Daily Prep - Overview

The Net-Chef Daily Prep module can be used at a kitchen, production facility, or commissary to record the production of recipe items in a single screen. Users can immediately update inventory with changes to the components and recipe product quantities based on the physical production of the recipe items. Daily Prep transactions can be created for any date up to and including the last Post Date that has been set up for the location. However, transactions created for future dates cannot be finalized until that date actually arrives.

The Daily Prep module will also allow users to view and use projected consumption quantities for recipes either for the whole day or by daypart. Note that if users will be creating transactions throughout the day, Menu Mix files and/or Buffet Consumption transactions should be processed throughout the day to make sure that “Available” quantities of the recipe components are up-to-date, otherwise the application will not detect any need for production.

Authorized users will be allowed to complete Daily Prep even if there is an insufficient quantity of one or more components in inventory. If a recipe includes a component that is itself a recipe, one which is set to deplete by "Component", the application will deplete that recipe’s component products rather than the finished recipe product.

Daily Prep users can see Projected Consumption by Daypart for recipes linked to the specific day/daypart in a Menu Plan defined in Enterprise Manager Web but which can be viewed here in Net-Chef.

Note: Daily Prep may be generated automatically based on preference settings in Enterprise Manager.
