Actual Cost
The Actual Cost report is used to review actual cost details for all products at the current location that are associated with the "Cost of Goods Sold" P&L Grouping and that have "Actual" costs and/or a Beginning or Ending Inventory value that is represented in any of the transactions used to calculate Actual or Theoretical Costs. The "Actual" cost refers to the value of the inventory that the location used over the selected post period(s).

Report Columns:
Click any column header to sort by the data in that column.
- Product Number – The company product number.
- Product Name – The company product name. “Drill Down” link; see below for details.
- Inventory Unit – The company product inventory unit.
- Value/Qty Beginning – The inventory of the product on the Begin Date.
- Value/Qty Purchase – The total of all Purchases for the product within the dates retrieved.
- Value/Qty Production – The total of Production for recipes flagged as an "A/T Cost Item".
- Value/Qty Transfers Out – The total of all outgoing Location Transfers for the product .
- Value/Qty Prod. Cons. Reversal – For the components of recipes flagged as an "A/T Cost Item", the component costs/quantities that are backed out of the Actual (since they are part of the "Value/Qty Production" for the recipe item).
- Value/Qty Ending – The inventory for the product on the End Date.
- Actual Cost/Qty Used = [ Beginning + Purchase + Production - Transfers Out – Prod. Cons. Reversal – Ending ]
- Value/Qty Inv. Adj. – The total of all Inventory Adjustments for the product.
- Value/Qty Inv. Variance – The total of all Inventory Variances for the product.
- Value/Qty Sales (hidden by default) – This reflects what the total cost/quantity would be if everything that was depleted was sold (i.e. – the Theoretical Cost).
- Value/Qty Net Inventory (hidden by default) – This reflects the total value/quantity of beginning inventory, plus everything that was added, minus non-sales depletion. (Variances are not included; they appear in a separate column). Calculated as [ Beginning + Purchases + Production – Production Consumption Reversal – Transfers Out – Inventory Adjustments ].
- Unit Price (hidden by default) – The current Inventory Cost of the product at the current location.
“Drill Down” Links:
- Product Name – Opens a Consumption Detail sub-report showing costs based on inventory transactions/depletion for that product at the location. This report compares the total Actual Costs to the total Consumption Values, which should match.
