Booking Journal
The Booking Journal displays transaction details for a selected product at the current location over a range of post periods. It lists each transaction in which the product was added to or removed from any storage location, and the "Cumulative Quantity" column keeps a running total of the quantity on hand.
This report is retrieved differently than most others, as explained below.
Transactions Included: Vendor Orders, Vendor Returns, Commissary/Customer/Warehouse Orders, Transfers, Inventory Adjustments, Recipe Adjustments, Production/Daily Prep, POS Depletion, Buffet Consumption, Inventory Variances
Report Controls
Search field: Enter the Product Name or Product # for the product you want to locate
Funnel (Filters): Product Number, Product Name, User Defined Category, Category/Subcategory/Microcategory
Printer (Export): PDF, Excel, CSV formats
Retrieving the Booking Journal:
- From the Reports menu, click Inventory, then click Booking Journal.
- The screen will display the list of products.
- Click the Product Name hyperlink corresponding to the desired product or use the Filter control to filter the products list by any of the options listed above.
- Select a From date using the drop-down and a To date using the calendar control.
- Click Retrieve to view the report details.
- If necessary, Search by Transaction Type, Transaction Source/Destination, or Transaction Storage Location and/or use the Funnel (Filters) icon to filter the report by one or more of the columns listed below:
- Transaction Date (no filter) – The date the transaction was reconciled/processed.
- Transaction Type – View all transactions of a specific type. Each type is a hyperlink to a detail screen with more information about the original transaction.
- Transaction Source/Destination – The vendor, supply location, customer, or storage location from which the product came or to which it went, depending on the transaction type. (This field will be blank for Production, Adjustment, and Variance transaction types.)
- Transaction Number – Displays the system assigned transaction number; based on the numbering schemes defined in Enterprise Manager.
- Vendor Invoice # – For Vendor Orders/Returns, this is the Invoice/Credit number entered by the user.
- User – The User ID of the user that created the transaction.
- Transaction Storage Location – The storage location at this location from which the product was subtracted or to which it was added.
- Transaction Value – The total value of this product for the transaction.
- Quantity In/Quantity Out – The quantity added to or depleted from inventory on the transaction.
- Cumulative Quantity (no filter) – A running total of the On Hand Quantity.
- If necessary, click the View Cost Changes button to display the Cost Changes Detail window, which shows all changes to the Issue Cost and/or Inventory Cost of the product at the designated location during the selected time period.
- To print a copy of the report, click the Printer (Export) icon.
- Close the report detail screen to return to the summary screen. From there, another product can be selected.
- When finished, click Close.
