Location Details: Safe Log
The Safe Log tab is used for creating one or more safes (or drawers) to be used at the location. This will allow stores to manage the movement of cash within their location so that they can make sure they always have enough petty cash to make change, and so they can track for loss prevention.
- Under the Corporate menu, click Locations.
- To edit a location record, click on the Name hyperlink.
- All tabs are visible by default. To show/hide a tab, click on the Menu icon and select the Tabs option. From the pop-up menu, check to show or uncheck to hide the desired tab(s).
- Click on the Safe Log tab.
- Click the Plus (Add) icon.
- Enter the Name of the safe or drawer.
- Enter the Expected Value to be found in the safe.
- From the drop-down, select the Currency associated with the money in this safe.
- The Active box is checked by default; clear the check box if this safe should not be active yet.
- If needed, check the Note Required box to require Net-Chef users to include a note with each Safe Log entry where the Actual value is ≥ to the Note Variance value defined below.
- Enter the Note Variance amount to indicate the acceptable threshold for a discrepancy between the Expected and Actual values.
- Click the Disk (Save) icon to save your changes.
- To download and print these settings, click the Printer (Export) icon and select the desired options.
- If necessary, click on any other tab as needed to configure settings on that tab. If not, skip to the next step.
- When finished, click the X (Close) icon to return to the summary screen.
If necessary, you can click on a row and click the Trash Can (Delete) icon to remove it.
