Financial Calendar: Overview
The Financial Calendar screen is divided into the following tabs:
- Financial/Fiscal Year Calendar
- Post Calendar
- Reporting Calendar
- Scheduled Closed Calendar
- Promotions Calendar
- Holiday Calendar
- Excluded Consumption Calendar (only visible to authorized users)
The Financial Calendar is used to set up the "Fiscal Year" for the entire company and define financial periods for "Period to Date" metrics. A Post Calendar must be set up for each location. The Reporting Calendar is used to define specific reporting periods for each calendar year, which do not necessarily coincide with all of the financial periods. The remaining tabs allows users to designate specific days for each location where the location is scheduled to be closed, running a promotion, or observing a holiday schedule. The application will display information about "Scheduled Closed" days, "Promotions", and "Holidays" in the Net-Chef Daily Prep and Sales Forecasting screens, so that users can adjust entries on those screens as needed for the applicable dates. The Excluded Consumption calendar allows authorized users to enter specific dates that should be excluded from historical/projected consumption calculations for a location.
The Financial Calendar also has the following features:
The Calendar Wizard can be used to create the 2 global (Financial & Reporting) calendars and/or the Post calendar. The Post Up feature can be used to automatically post multiple periods for one or more locations up to a selected date, while the Unpost Inventory feature can be used to automatically unpost one or more inventory periods for a single location.
Franchise Note: Franchisees will be allowed to define calendars for their own locations. Franchisors will only be able to define calendars for their own locations.
