Post Calendar

The Post Calendar is used to define the posting periods for each individual location. To create this calendar quickly and easily, try the Calendar Wizard.

{Note}Closed: At least one "Financial Calendar" record MUST be entered for the Fiscal Year before creating this calendar.  {Franchise Note}Closed: Franchisees will be allowed to define calendars for their own locations. Franchisors will only be able to define calendars for their own locations.

  1. Under the Corporate menu, click Financial Calendar.
  2. Select the Post tab.
  3. Select the appropriate Fiscal Year from the drop-down.
  4. Select a Location from the drop-down.  {Concepts Note}Closed: If a location is linked to one or more Concepts, it will only be available if the current application user is linked to one or more of the same Concepts. If a location is not linked to any Concepts, it will be available to all users.  See "Concepts" for more information.
  1. Click the Plus (Add) icon. This adds the first row to the calendar.
  2. Enter the Date for the first period.  {Note}Closed: If necessary, click the Previous Fiscal Year button to view the dates for last year; this will help you figure out what the dates should be for THIS year.
  3. Click the Increment icon, select the desired increment period and click Submit.  (For most locations, this SHOULD be 'Weekly' unless there is a compelling reason to make another selection.  If using the Labor module in Net-Chef, Post periods MUST be set up on a weekly basis and the "Date/Week Day" for each period MUST match the Reporting Calendar and the "Week Ending Day" in the Company screen.)
  • If the calendar is NOT to be created automatically, repeat steps 5 and 6 for each subsequent period.
  1. If you perform Cycle Inventory counts, in the Inventory Type column select a User Defined Category for each applicable period to indicate that only the products in that group should be counted in the Final for Post inventory during that period.  (Note: Once selected, this can only be changed/removed prior to the start of the period.)
  2. When finished, click Save or Save and Close.

Note: The Pages (Copy) icon on this screen lets a user copy the selected calendar from one location to any other location that does not yet have this calendar set up.  See "Copying a Calendar" for more information.
