Recipe Details: Location
The Location tab lets users customize the recipe for the way it is used at each location.
- Under the Products menu, select Recipe.
- To edit a recipe record, click on the Recipe Name hyperlink.
- All tabs are visible by default. To show/hide a tab, click on the Menu icon and select the Tabs option.
From the pop-up menu, check to show or uncheck to hide the desired tab(s).
- Click on the Location tab. For 'Cruise Line' companies, the list of locations will be limited to those linked to the recipe on the Ship Locations tab.
- To add one or more locations, complete the following steps.
- Click the Plus (Add) icon.
- Click to select the appropriate location(s) from the list on the right. To select more than one, press and hold the CTRL key when clicking. If necessary, use the Funnel (Filters) icon to filter the list.
- Click the [<] (Add) button to add the selected location(s) or click the [<<] (Add All) button to add them all.
- When finished, click the (X) (Close) or (>) (Collapse) button in the selection panel to close/collapse it.
If you collapse the panel, you can use the (<) (Expand) button to reopen it.
The Group By Market box is located in the Filters pop-up and is checked by default. If necessary, you can clear the check box to ungroup the list.
- For each location, define the following:
Location-specific fields:
- PLU # – Displays the PLU from the Recipe tab. Edit as needed to adjust the PLU for each location. It is the PLU that links the recipe to the point-of-sale system and allows ingredients to be depleted from inventory based on sales.
- Recipe Price – Displays the Ideal Price per Portion from the Modeling tab. Edit as needed to adjust the price for each location.
- Production Type – This setting determines whether component ingredients from the location will be used to make this recipe. This can be set here for each location if necessary; it will default to the setting selected on the Production tab.
See"Determining Product Depletion and Recipe Costing" for more information about "Production Type" and "POS Decrement". The PLU and the POS Decrement setting are important if menu mix files will be imported to deplete the inventory quantities according to what was sold.
- POS Decrement – This setting determines how quantities will be depleted from inventory when a recipe product is sold. This can be set here for each location if necessary; it will default to the setting selected on the Recipe tab.
- A/T Cost Item (not visible for Cruise Line companies) – If checked, the Actual/Theoretical Cost report will display costs for the recipe item (not its components) at the specified location. This will default to the setting selected on the Production tab. The box can only be checked if, on this tab, "Production Type"= 'Production' and "POS Decrement" = 'Item'.
- Active – This indicates whether or not the recipe is available to each location.
- Include in Prep Report – This indicates whether or not the recipe is eligible to be included in the Net-Chef Prep Report at this location. A recipe can be included even if it is NOT an eligible Prep Recipe. This setting will be inherited from the Production tab.
- Recipe Name – This can be edited if the recipe goes by different names at different locations. (This will be displayed on the Menu Mix report in EM Client.)
Location Command Buttons:
- Activate All/Deactivate All – Checks/Clears the Active column for all records.
- Update PLU/Update PLU All – Updates existing values or blank fields in the PLU# column with the value from the same field on the Recipe tab.
- Update Prices/Update Prices All – Updates existing values or blank fields in the Recipe Price column with the value in the "Ideal Price per Portion" field on the Modeling or Scaling tab.
- Click the Disk (Save) icon to save your changes.
- To download and print these settings, click the Printer (Export) icon and select the desired options.
- If necessary, click on any other tab as needed to configure settings on that tab. If not, skip to the next step.
- When finished, click the X (Close) icon to return to the summary screen.
