Choosing a User's Departments
Each location department is linked to a company department which, in turn, is linked to company products. Linking a user to a location department gives that user access to products for ordering in the Purchasing and Customer modules. Users can order products only if they are linked to the appropriate location department(s).
- Under the Security menu, click Application Users.
- To edit a user record, click on the User ID hyperlink.
- All tabs are visible by default. To show/hide a tab, click on the Menu icon and select the Tabs option. From the pop-up menu, check to show or uncheck to hide the desired tab(s).
- Click on the Departments tab.
- To add one or more Departments:
- click the Plus (Add) icon.
- Click to select the appropriate department(s) from the list on the right. To select more than one, press and hold the CTRL key when clicking. If necessary, use the Funnel (Filters) icon to filter the list.

If you collapse the panel, you can use the (<) (Expand) button to reopen it.
Note: Steps 5-7 only apply to “Cruise Line” company types.
- Check the Approval Authority box if the user needs to approve customer orders created in Enterprise Manager. This user will be allowed to approve orders created for customers linked to these (location) departments.
- Enter an Approval Limit. If Approval Authority is enabled, a value must be entered here to indicate the total order value up to which the user can approve.
- The Active box is checked by default. Uncheck this if the user should not be allowed to order products in this department at this time.
- Click the Disk (Save) icon to save your changes.
- To download and print these settings, click the Printer (Export) icon and select the desired options.
- If necessary, click on any other tab as needed to configure settings on that tab. If not, skip to the next step.
- When finished, click the X (Close) icon to return to the summary screen.
If necessary, you can click on a row and click the Trash Can (Delete) icon to remove it.
