Menu Mix Interface
Sales information from cash registers can be imported into the Crunchtime database. This information can then be used to deplete products from inventory according to what was sold. This is done through the use of Menu Mix files.
‘Standard’ menu mix files from various point-of-sale systems are imported through the Crunchtime Data Pump (CDP). The Standard Interface Guide provides details about the menu mix file's content and format. The application uses PLUs to match up the menu mix sales to products in the database. Depending on the recipe configuration, either the finished recipe item or the individual component products that make up the recipe item can be depleted from inventory.
Imported menu mix data can also be used when calculating a location’s historical consumption to determine the Recommended Order quantity for each product on a master order, vendor order, or commissary order. See "Consumption in Recommended Order/Production" for more details.
