Local Events (AI Forecast)
The Local Events calendar captures events like local holidays, school breaks, community events, concerts, sporting events, festivals, and other market-level factors that can impact your sales forecasts. Capturing these events will increase the accuracy of the AI Forecast by ensuring that these demand drivers are factored into the forecasts for Sales, Guests, and Checks at your location.
Menu Path: Net-Chef > Manage Sales Forecasts > Local Events
Screen Controls
Month/Year selector: Opens a calendar widget to select any month & date to view or create entries.
< [ Today ] >: "Today" selects the current date; the Left and Right Arrows [<, >] select last month and next month respectively.
+ Add Event: Opens a panel to create a new calendar event for the current date.
X (Close): Closes the Local Events screen and returns to the Sales Forecast detail screen.
Create a Local Event
- To create a new entry, click on the desired date and select Add New Event. An event panel will open.
- In the event panel, enter the Event Name, then click the Create {Event Name} event button. Additional detail fields will be displayed.
- Select the Category to classify the event. Options include : 'Community Event', 'Concert', 'Holiday', 'School Event', 'Sporting Event', or 'Other'.
- Select the Date for the event; this defaults to the current date.
- If applicable, check the All Day box; otherwise select the From & To times for the event.
- If the event spans multiple days or repeats on other dates, select Add more dates. If not, skip to Step 7.
- Use the pop-up calendar to select another date to add for this event.
- Repeat as needed to add each additional date.
- When ready, click the Disk (Save) icon to save your entry.
- This entry will be added to the list of Upcoming Events. You can edit any event in this list by clicking on it.
- When ready, click the X (Close) icon to return to the Sales Forecast detail screen.
