Consolidated Commodity Pricing Trends - Related Setup

Related Setup:

  • Application Users – Users must be linked to at least one hierarchy and to the reference market.
  • Financial & Post Calendars – The report will retrieve data for a maximum of 13 financial or post periods. To see trends over the course of a year, financial periods should not be less than 1 month.
  • Currency Ratios (multi-currency environments only) – Conversion factors for alternate currencies must be defined. When "Calculation Type" = 'Variance', the values in this report are expressed in the Reference Market’s base currency (if selected); otherwise the values are displayed in the Company base currency.
  • Company Products – When "Data Type" = 'Purchase', the report displays all quantities and values in terms of the "Preferred Vendor Pack Type" unit.  The "Conversion to Inventory Unit" must also be defined in order to accurately convert inventory quantities to purchase quantities. If these have not be defined for a product, the report will display all quantities and values for that product in terms of the Inventory Unit.
  • Concepts – Each location should be linked to only one concept (if used), to eliminate double counting of location data in the summary report.

Recommended Setup:

  • Markets – A non-functional "Reference Market" (with no associated locations) should be defined.
  • Vendor Bids – Standardized product pricing (i.e. at least one bid price) should be entered for all relevant products in the reference market.
  • To eliminate double counting of products, finalized Production recipes made by a commissary will not be included in the retrieval of Location or Product data for that commissary. For comparison purposes at the non-commissary purchasing locations, these recipes should be added to a bid sheet with a bid entered in the reference market.
