Consolidated Employee Breaks
The Consolidated Employee Breaks report allows managers to review all breaks (paid and unpaid) taken by employees within a 30 day period at all locations within the selected hierarchy. The report displays data for completed shifts worked at the employee's primary location, with the option to include data from alternate locations (shift data displayed in italics). The report will ignore any incomplete shift records. Managers’ information will only be included for authorized users.

The report checks for break violations by comparing break rules (defined in Enterprise Manager) for each employee's primary location to actual hours and break records displayed in the Labor Summary screen. A violation occurs when an employee does not take a break or takes a break that isn’t long enough. Violations will display on the report in two ways:
- If an employee took a break (paid or unpaid) that was too short, a tool tip outlining the violation will appear when the user passes the mouse over the value in the Paid Break or Unpaid Break field; this value will be displayed in red text and underlined to indicate that the tool tip is available.
- If an employee did not take a break (paid or unpaid) in the appropriate timeframe, all values in the shift line that includes the time when the break should have been taken will be displayed in red text.
Note: Discreet shifts will be determined based on the Labor Rules defined in Enterprise Manager. If the elapsed time between the Time Out value for one shift and the Time In value for the next shift is greater than the parameter defined in the Labor Rules, the second shift will be treated as a new shift. Because this report is tracking employee breaks for consecutive hours worked, a new position does NOT necessarily constitute a new shift. If an employee works in multiple positions during one shift, all violations will be verified against the time worked for the shift as a whole.
Report Controls
Date Range Start/Finish: Calendar widgets; 30-day limit based on selected Start date.
Include Alternate Locations: Check this to include shifts worked at alternate locations.
Group By: Employee (default), Date, Location
View Breaks By: Minutes (default), % of Hours
Hierarchy: Select the desired hierarchy level from the drop-down
Funnel (Filters): Any report column; Pay Type, Violations, Break Wavier
Printer (Export): PDF, Excel, CSV formats

Report Columns:
Click any column header to sort by the data in that column.
- Break Waiver – Displays 'Yes' or 'No' to indicate whether the employee has signed a waiver form. This column will only appear if the Labor Actual records for the date range include Unpaid Breaks.
Note: Unpaid break violations are based solely on the Labor Rules defined in Enterprise Manager, regardless of an employee's Break Waiver status. Report users must review this status and the Total Shift Hours to determine if waived employees truly violated the law.
- Date – Displays the date of the shift based on the business or operating day; see note below.
- Location (visible when Alt. Location data is included) – The Location at which the employee worked.
- Position Code – The Code for the position worked by the employee during that shift.
- Position –The Position worked by the employee during that shift.
- Time In – The "Adjusted Time In" from the Labor Detail record.
- Time Out – The "Adjusted Time Out" from the Labor Detail record.
- Paid Break ('Minutes' or '% of Hours') – The "Adjusted Total Hours" for a Break Type of "Paid" in the Labor Detail record.
- Unpaid Break ('Minutes' or '% of Hours') – The "Adjusted Total Hours" for a Break Type of "Unpaid" in the Labor Detail record.
- Total Paid Time (Hours) = Total hours worked, excluding any unpaid breaks.
- Total Shift Time (Hours) = Total hours worked, including any unpaid breaks.
- Last Edit in POS – The user that last edited the Labor data in the point-of-sale system.
- Last Edit in NC – The user that last edited the Labor data in the Labor Summary screen.
Note: If a shift crosses from one business or operating day into another, the application will display 2 shift lines. (Net-Chef presumes that employees are clocked out at the end of a business or operating day and clocked back in immediately at the start of the new day.) This will be one continuous shift for reporting and violation verification purposes but the appropriate date will be displayed for each shift line.
Subtotal rows – Includes subtotals by Shift, Employee, Date (when grouped by Date), and Location (when grouped by Location).
Totals row – Includes totals for the "Paid Break (Minutes)", "Unpaid Break (Minutes)", "Total Paid Time (Hours)", and "Total Shift Time (Hours)" columns.
