Change Password

The Net-Chef Change Password screen lets authorized users change their own passwords. This way, users can change their passwords frequently for security purposes without having to go through the corporate office.

The details of application user records are only accessible in Enterprise Manager.

Note: Standard passwords are limited to 8 characters.  If "Use Complex Passwords" has been enabled in Enterprise Manager, check with the system administrator to verify password requirements.

  1. From the Application User drop-down menu, click Change Password.
  2. The User Name will be displayed and cannot be changed; only the password for the current user can be changed.
  3. Enter the Current Net-Chef Password, for verification purposes.
  4. Enter the New Password twice.
  5. For users who have defined 1 or 2 security questions, enter the correct Security Answer for each. (This only occurs if "Use Complex Passwords" has been enabled. New users logging in for the first time will be prompted to define these questions at that point. Existing users may be prompted to defined their questions and answers when attempting to change their password.)
  6. When all fields have been filled in, click Update Password.
  7. If any of the entries is invalid, an alert message will appear and the user will be returned to the screen to make corrections. If all entries are valid, a confirmation message will appear before the change is made final.
  8. Click OK to change your password. The new password will be saved, and it must be used the next time you log in.

Note: In some cases, one Net-Chef user ID may be used by more than one person. If the password is changed, make sure any other people using the same ID are aware of the change so they can still log in.
