Auto-Transfers

 

Note: This functionality is not available for Cruise Lines.

Related Setup: 

For location transfers to be generated automatically, the following settings must be enabled in Enterprise Manager:

In the Location Details screen:

  • Allow Auto-Transfer – On the "Transfer To Locations" tab, check this box to allow automatic Location Transfers to be created to send products to that location.

 

In the Location Product Detail screen, Product tab:

  • Auto-Transfer – Check this box to allow the product to be included on automatic Location Transfers sent to the current location.
  • Source Location – (drop-down) – When the box above is checked, you can then select the location that will send this product to the current location.
    This list may be limited to those assigned as “Transfer To Locations”, if any are defined.

 

How It Works: 

  1. Once each night, overnight, Net-Chef will check for eligible products.
  2. At the receiving location, if [ On Hand – In Transit ] is < Min Par for any eligible product, Net-Chef will create an automatic location transfer at the designated Source Location. All calculations will be based on inventory units. (It is necessary to subtract In Transit to account for any outgoing transfers from the receiving location.)
  3. For each product being transferred, the Issue Quantity = [ Min Par – (On Hand – In Transit) ]. This will bring the product(s) up to Min Par at the receiving location. The process will allow the auto-transfer of products with Min Par ≥ 0, to maintain inventory at zero. The supply location inventory is allowed to go into negative quantities to accomplish this.
  4. The Auto-Transfer will be reconciled automatically at the receiving location. There will be no "In Transit" status for Auto-Transfers.

 

Additional Information:

  • Auto-Transfers can only be generated if the Company Type ≠ 'Cruise Line'.
  • All Auto-Transfers will occur between the primary storage locations at both locations.
  • Lot-Tracked Products will NOT be included in Auto-Transfers.
  • The transaction date is the date at the sending location and the reconcile date is that of the destination location.
  • If the transfer date for either the source location or destination location is in a posted period, the Auto-Transfer will not be processed.
  • Auto-Transfers must be completed in entirety. If an issue occurs at the receiving or sending location, the Auto-Transfer will not be processed.
  • If the On Hand quantity for a product changes and already meets Min Par before a transfer is finalized, the product will not be transferred.
  • If the On Hand quantity for a product changes (but does not meet Min Par) before a transfer is completed, Net-Chef will automatically adjust the Issue Quantity and complete the transfer.
