Tip Pooling

The Tip Pooling screen allows users to create a list of tip pools that can be associated with specific Positions and Locations. In Net-Chef, the location's designated tip pool will be available in the Labor Detail screen to show how the charged tips are distributed among employees based on the daily hours worked.

  1. Under the Labor menu, click Tip Pooling.
  2. Click the New Tip Pool button to create a new tip pool, or click on the link in the appropriate row to modify an existing entry.
  3. Enter the Tip Pool Name.
  4. Select the Tip Pool Type - options include 'Daily' (default) or 'Daypart'.
  5. The Active box is checked by default; clear the check box if the pool should not be active.
  6. On the Positions tab, check the box in the Select column for each eligible position that should be part of this tip pool, or check the box in the column header to select all eligible positions.
  7. On the Locations tab, check the box in the Select column for each location that should utilize this tip pool, or check the box in the column header to select all locations. {Note}Closed: A location can only be assigned to one active Tip Pool.
  8. When finished, click the Disk (Save) icon.  {Note}Closed: Any changes will take effect the first day of the next unposted labor week. If a user makes changes in the middle of the week, an alert message will be displayed stating that "Saving your changes will affect the calculation values in Net Chef for all unposted labor weeks. Would you like to proceed?"
  9. To download and print these entries, click the Printer (Export) icon on the appropriate tab and select the desired options.

If necessary, you can click on a new row and click the Trash Can (Delete) icon to remove it.
