Copy Company Products
An authorized user can "Copy" company products from the Company Product summary screen, allowing them to create a new company product that is identical to a selected source product, except for those attributes that must be unique.
Many companies have a large number of company products that are very similar to one another. The ability to "copy" company products means that users will not have to set up each one individually. Users will also have the option to copy location product records associated with the selected company product.
- Under the Products menu, click Company Products.
- In the summary screen, click on a product row then click the Pages (Copy) icon.
- In the Copy pop-up, edit the Product Name to give the new product a unique name.
- Edit the Product Number to give the new product a unique number.
- The boxes for Copy Location Product Record(s), Copy Company Product Image, and Copy Company Product Attachments are checked by default. This will allow a user to duplicate these attributes for the new product automatically. If this should not be done, clear the check box for the appropriate option(s).
- Click OK to copy the product.
- When finished, the pop-up window will close and the copied product will appear in the summary screen.
- If necessary, open the record for the new Company Product and make any necessary changes.
- When finished, click the X (Close) icon to return to the summary screen.
Note: If the Audit Preference is turned on for "Company Products and Recipes", the copy of a Company Product will be shown on the Audit tab in the detail screen of the new product record.
