Replace Recipe Components
Authorized users can utilize the Recipe Component Replacement function to “swap” an existing recipe component for a different component in multiple recipes all at once. This will work for all recipes in which the original component is either a main component or defined as a substitution component.
As part of this process, the user can map the Recipe Unit numbers of the replacement component to those of the original component. This will account for situations where the Recipe Units may not be setup exactly the same for the two components. User can then choose the specific recipes in which the component will be replaced.
- Under the Products menu, click Recipe.
- Click the Replace Component button. The Recipe Component Replacement window will open.
- Choose an Original Component.
- Choose a Replacement Component.
- Enter the appropriate Component Conversion value to reflect how many of the replacement component's inventory units there are in one of the original component's inventory units.
- In the Original Component Recipe Unit = Replacement Component Recipe Unit # fields, enter the Recipe Unit number for the replacement component that most closely matches that of the original component. For example, Replacement Component Recipe Unit # '2' (LB) is the one that corresponds to Recipe Unit 1 (LB) of the original component.
- Check the Include Component Substitutions box if the replacement component should also replace the original component in any recipes where it is defined as a substitution.
- Check the Inherit Component Information box if the replacement component should inherit Component Information from the original component. This will include the Pre-Production flag, Recipe Special Instructions 1 & 2, and the Scaling factor.
- When ready, click the Next button. At this point, the system will validate whether the replacement component is eligible to be ordered from vendors and will present a warning message if not. (This will NOT prevent the user from proceeding.) If the replacement component passes validation or if the warning appears and the user chooses to continue, the recipe selection window will open.
- Check the box in the Replace column for each recipe in which the original component should be replaced or check the Select All box to check or clear all check boxes.
- When ready, click the Replace Components button.
- When the process is complete, the Replace Components window will close.
